Challenges are predefined scenarios first introduced in Version 1.2.0. Unlike the previous freeplay, scenarios have preset victory conditions.
There are 4 scenarios built into the game - custom scenarios can be created by players and downloaded via the Steam Workshop.
Scenario 1 - Mining Station Alpha
- Your Goal: collect 100 units of ore.
- Starting planet: Desert
- Starting crew:
- Restrictions on buildings:
- No Lab (--> no Meat, no Medicine),
- no Sick Bay,
- no Processing Plant,
- no Control Center,
- no Bar,
- no Signpost, Pyramid or Monolith
- Landing restriction: No new Colonists or Visitors allowed.
Scenario 2 - Starport Atlantis
- your Goal: Collect 1000 Coins in less than 30 days.
- Starting planet: Desert (with Oceans around you)
- Starting crew:
- Restrictions on buildings:
- No Lab (--> no Meat, no Medicine),
- no Sick Bay,
- no Processing Plant,
- no Control Center,
- no Mine
- Landing restriction: No new Colonists allowed.
Scenario 3 - Frozen Cage
- your Goal: 1) Build 3 Radio Antennas and Radio Consoles and 2) survive for 20 days
- Starting Planet: Frozen (increasing frequency of Blizzards, many meteorites)
- Restrictions on buildings:
- no Bar,
- no Landing Pad --> no colonists, visitors or Traders.
Scenario 4 - Dark Moon
- your Goal: Reach a population of 300
- starting Planet: Moon (with no atmosphere, many meteorites and many intruders)
- Starting crew:
- Restrictions on buildings: no Radio Antennas and Radio Consoles
- Landing restriction: no visitors or Traders.
